How much do bus passes cost and where can I get one?
A bus pass costs £70 per term; it can be purchased from the school reception desk from the first day of term. Please bring in cash or a cheque made payable to Inspirational Futures Trust.
How can I get to NSETC by bus?
Students who travel from geographical areas such as Burnham-on-Sea, Yatton or Kewstoke may find the timing of bus services connecting from Weston-super-Mare town centre to the NSETC difficult to access. These students are welcome to make use of the free Crosville 100 shuttle bus service, which collects at the South West Skills Campus on Locking Road (convenient for Milton Park Train Station) and Regent Street in the town centre. The shuttle service collects at 8.40am in both locations and will arrive at NSETC at 08.55.
Where can I apply for a bursary?
You can apply for your bursary online using the eILP (click here) and bring in the relevant paperwork to the school reception desk from the first day of term.
Do I need to wear a blazer?
The NSETC is a school which runs along business lines and this is reflected in the dress code. You can read all about the dress code at NSETC here. Many of our students do choose to wear a suit jacket or blazer but it is not compulsory. Think about the type of clothes that people wear to work in an office, they may choose to wear a suit jacket for a meeting or presentation but may not choose to wear one all day.
Do I need a briefcase?
Whilst a briefcase is well suited to the business ethos of the NSETC it is not necessarily practical for every day school use when you may want to carry cooking equipment or sports kit. Many of our students choose satchel bags, shoulder bags or smart, plain backpacks to carry their equipment.
How can I pay for my lunch?
In the first instance, students will pay for food with cash at a till in the dining room. By Christmas we are aiming to move to an electronic system which can be pre-paid online.
